Leaving people out

Some people should never turn up in your lists, however many signals they trip: a customer's team, a friend who likes everything you post, someone who asked not to be contacted. Signals give you two ways to make sure of that, with different weight.

Both live on the Signals dashboard, under People you left out.

Leave out

Paste someone's LinkedIn profile address and click Leave out. From then on, no signal will find them: they're dropped at the very first stage of every run, before anything is read about them, and they count under Left out on the dashboard.

Leaving someone out can be undone. The panel lists everyone you've left out, and Put back removes them from the list; the next run can find them again.

Leaving someone out doesn't remove them from a list they're already in. If they were added before, delete them from the list yourself.

Forget completely

Forget completely is for someone who has asked not to be processed, or whom you want gone for good. It does everything Leave out does, and also deletes what Signals holds about the person: their heat, the record of their scoring, and the evidence and heat on any lead of theirs. The lead itself stays in your list, because removing a lead from a campaign is your own decision; the panel tells you how many leads were affected so you can do that.

Forgetting is permanent and the panel asks you to confirm. Afterwards the person is listed without their address, with no Put back. To make sure they aren't collected again from the same public post, Ragworks keeps a one-way fingerprint of the address and nothing else; it can't be turned back into the address.

info

A run that was already in progress when you forgot someone might record them once more. The block is already in place, so the next run drops them, and that stray record expires on its own within 30 days.

What Signals keeps about people, and for how long

A few plain facts, because people ask:

  • Qualified people are leads in your lists, with the evidence that surfaced them (at most a sentence or two of a comment, and a link to it). They stay as long as the lead does.
  • People who didn't qualify leave only a record that they were scored, with no name or text, for 30 days, so they aren't scored again too soon.
  • People your rules filtered out of a your-audience signal are kept for 30 days with their name, headline, profile link and the reason, so you can see why. Nothing else about them is stored.
  • Heat is a list of which signals touched a person and when, with no text, for 30 days.
  • Nothing is kept about anyone across organisations: what your signals find is yours alone.

Deleting a lead deletes its signal evidence with it. An organisation that leaves Ragworks has all of this deleted.
