Available tools

The connector gives your assistant 53 tools in seven areas. You don't call them yourself: ask in plain words and the assistant picks the right ones (see Sample questions). The names matter when you want to allow, block or look up a tool.

LabelMeaning
ReadsOnly looks at your workspace.
ChangesCreates or edits something in your workspace. The assistant confirms with you first.
Contacts peopleStarts or ends outreach, or sends a message to a lead, and can't be undone. Five tools, always confirmed first.
FreeCosts no credits.
Credits per leadPriced per lead from your live pricing, and checked against your balance before it runs.
AI usageRuns an AI model. It needs a positive balance and is billed by usage afterwards.

Sending costs nothing: invites, emails and messages don't use credits. The AI that writes a message is billed by usage after the fact. How credits are counted has the details.

Credits

Check your balance and see what an action would cost before you run it.

ToolWhat it doesEffectCost
get_credit_balanceSpendable credits, plan, cycle end, lead-sourcing budget left and per-lead prices.ReadsFree
estimate_creditsCredits an action on N leads will spend, including research at a chosen depth, whether it fits, and the most leads that fit.ReadsFree
get_credit_usageCredits spent by category, day, model or campaign.ReadsFree

Accounts and leads

Find people, save them to lists, look up emails and phone numbers, and follow what happens to each lead.

get_lead_conversationOne lead's timeline and messages on every channel.ReadsFree
take_over_leadTake one lead over, as the Take over button does: the campaign's automation stops for this lead only, and a person writes to them. Taking over a lead that is already taken over changes nothing.ChangesFree
send_lead_messageSend one message to one lead, as the next message in their thread, from the campaign's connected account: LinkedIn, email, WhatsApp or Instagram.Contacts peopleFree

Messaging a lead from your assistant

Ask the assistant to take a lead over, or to write to one. It works like Take over and the message box in Pulse, and the lead is the one in your campaign, not a new contact.

  1. The assistant reads the thread first. It reads the lead's conversation so the message fits what was already said.
  2. You see exactly what will go out. It shows you the lead, the channel and the full text, and sends only after you say yes. A sent message can't be unsent.
  3. The lead is taken over. A person can only write to a lead after taking it over, which stops the campaign's automation for that lead: no more AI messages or steps. If the lead isn't taken over yet, the assistant says so and asks you first. It then takes the lead over and sends in one go.
  4. Resuming is done in the app. Ask the assistant to take a lead over and it stays with you until you hand it back to the AI in the app. See How Takeover Works.
ChannelWhat happensThe lead needs
LinkedInA LinkedIn message from the campaign's LinkedIn account.A LinkedIn profile on the lead.
EmailA reply in the lead's existing email thread, from the campaign's email account, under the thread's subject. It can't start a new thread. An email address and an earlier email to or from the lead.
WhatsAppA WhatsApp message to the lead's phone number, from the campaign's WhatsApp account.A phone number.
InstagramAn Instagram message to the lead's handle, from the campaign's Instagram account. It may be queued and sent later: the assistant tells you when.An Instagram handle, on a profile that can receive messages.
  • One message to one lead. A message can be up to 8,000 characters.
  • It costs no credits. Sending never does.
  • It goes out as the campaign's sender. The account for that channel must still be connected to the campaign. If it isn't, reconnect it in Connectors and ask again.
  • Nothing else changes. The rest of the campaign keeps running for other leads.

Importing your own list

Attach or paste a CSV and ask the assistant to import it. The first row must use these column names (case and spacing don't matter): First Name, Last Name, Company Name, Email, Linkedin, Job Title, Location, Phone Number, Instagram, Followers and Headline.

  • Required: First Name, Last Name and Company Name, and every row needs an Email or a Linkedin profile URL. A row with neither is skipped.
  • Other column names: the assistant renames your columns to these before it imports. A file that still doesn't fit is refused with what is missing, and nothing is created.
  • Where it goes: a new saved list, or an existing saved list. It never adds leads to a campaign directly: create the campaign from the list.
  • Size: up to 500 rows in one go. For more, ask for the rest to be added to the same list in batches, or upload the file in the app (Bring Your Own Leads).
  • Duplicates: repeats of the same person inside the file are merged. The assistant tells you how many leads were imported and how many were skipped.

Importing doesn't enrich or verify the leads. Use enrich_lead_list to look up missing emails or mobile numbers.

Research, previews and simulations

These tools work like the screens they match. See Research depth and hooks, Preview 3 leads and Simulate a campaign.

  • Set research on a step. Ask the assistant to set a step's research depth to Basic, Standard or Deep, and to change its hooks, tone or never-mention list. Deep needs the Explorer plan or above. If a setting can't be saved, the answer carries a warning and the assistant tells you.
  • See what it costs first. Before it launches, the assistant works out the campaign's research cost from your list and your plan, and tells you. Research on a lead that already has it is free.
  • Preview before you launch. preview_messages shows three leads. Ask for another three and it draws new ones.
  • Simulate a lead. simulate_campaign runs the No reply scenario for one lead. Without a lead it uses a made-up sample lead, which has no research and costs no research credits. With a real lead it researches at the depth you ask for, unless that lead already has research. The run can take up to about 45 seconds, and the assistant checks on it with get_simulation. A finished run can be read for 30 days.
  • Limits. One simulation runs per campaign at a time, and an organization can start 100 a day.

Sales Strategist

Ask for a report on a running campaign and turn its roadmap into changes.

ToolWhat it doesEffectCost

generate_strategist_reportAnalyse a running campaign: messaging, audience, timing, funnel.ChangesAI usage
list_strategist_reportsReports with health score and verdict.ReadsFree
get_strategist_reportVerdict, dimensions, risks and the ranked roadmap of changes.ReadsFree

Limits to know

  • Searches. A Ragworks Database search shows 25 leads per page with the total and an estimated cost. A LinkedIn search uses your daily LinkedIn quota instead of credits.
  • Quickstart builds. The number of leads is capped by your plan, and there is a daily limit on builds. The build needs the accounts for its style, for example LinkedIn and email.
  • Sales Strategist. A report needs at least 10 sends, and a campaign gets one manual report every 6 hours. See Sales Strategist report.
  • A/B tests. An experiment compares two or three playbooks on one draft campaign, and part of the leads is held back until you pick a winner. See Experiments.
  • Background work. Writing a playbook, regenerating copy, quickstart builds, strategist reports, enrichment and LinkedIn saves finish after the tool returns. The assistant checks their progress for you. See Gotchas and troubleshooting.
  • Your role. Every member sees the same tools, but Ragworks applies your role to each call. For example, listing connected accounts needs an admin or owner role.
  • Features that aren't on for you. If your organization doesn't have a feature yet, its tool answers that it isn't enabled for your organization.

New tools

Ragworks adds tools over time. Your assistant keeps the list it saw when it connected, so after an update switch the connector off and on to pick up new tools. See Gotchas and troubleshooting.
